Happy 37th Birthday to you, Mr Christian Bale! Hope you have a great year 2011 ahead!
Christian Bale is now up for the lead in the forthcoming Dark Tower film series!
Fresh off his Golden Globe win for the “The Fighter,” sources say Christian Bale has pulled ahead of Javier Bardem and Viggo Mortensen as Ron Howard and Stephen King’s choice for “Tower” main character, gunslinger Roland Deschain.
This is sudden news, I was already routing for Viggo Mortensen, but I can’t say I would be upset if Bale got it. Whomever they pick, this series is going to be one of the most massive movie events of the decade.

There have been a lot of rumors regarding where The Dark Knight Rises will be filming. We know that Christopher Nolan was definitely on a worldwide search in Asia, and today I have a few more details about where he was looking. A source that I trust let me know that Romania and India are locations where The Dark Knight Rises is likely to be shot.
He also echoed what we’ve heard before — Los Angeles, the UK, and he was confident that they’d be heading back to Chicago at some point too. I was also told that additional locations in the UK are being scouted within the next few weeks. I know this is a small rumor after the blockbuster official announcement from yesterday, but I wanted to pass it along.
Update: Several readers have sent in an article from Romania Insider, which confirms that Christopher Nolan was scouting in Romania, and the film’s producers have met with city officials. According to the article, Nolan is interested in Bucharest’s historical center, Edgar Quinet Street, Palace of Parliament, and the Turda salt mines.

Christian Bale says that he grew his hair because he was out of a job.
The 36-year-old actor, whose last film was The Fighter, explained that there was no need for him to get a haircut if he wasn’t starring in anything, so he didn’t bother.
“This is unemployment, this is all this is,” he joked to Access Hollywood. “I haven’t worked since The Fighter, and it’s nice to just not bother cutting your hair. When you’re not in a job that everything always has to be, you know, worked out for a character, I just sort of let it all hang out.”
But he has already got an appointment with the hairdresser booked for when he starts work on new movie The 13 Women Of Nanjing next month.
