Gallery Updates Mag Alert!

I have uploaded new scans of Christian in The London Paper to the gallery, thanks to kenickeh for the scans!

Is the famous rant going to overshadow the film?
“Well that’s up them,” says the 35-year old curtly. “I’ve got no idea.”

Does he worry what people think?
“Listen, people decide for themselves what they think. The whole thing is four minutes in 77 days, you know?”

McG on the rant: “When people have their blood up, you have to let it run its course. It’s my job to protect the actor at all times.”

Does he feel, generally, that he goes to extremes?
“I enjoy testing myself. That notion of could I or not, whether it’s hacking through a jungle [in Werner Herzog’s Rescue Dawn] or seeing if you can not really eat over a number of months [in The Machinist , when he lost more than 60lb in a strict dieting regime].

“The most boring sets to me are where you’re in a trailer and just going on to a stage – that’s not what I’m doing it for. I like to be off in the middle of nowhere, getting my hands dirty, or my mind, with fellow adventurers who are a little bit nuts, you know?â€

Is The London Paper in competition with the Enquirer?? This interviewer is not only a very bad writer, but his ‘inquisition’ was uncalled for and disrespectful. I hope Christian never graces them with an interview ever again. I hope STUART MCGURK’s Editor gets a lot of hate mail on this one.

Gosh, the British press are the worst. The UK Esquire interview was terrible too. No wonder Christian left England and is now a U.S. citizen. I don’t blame him. The UK loves to tear down their celebrities. Now I understand why Christian had Terminator Salvation’s European premiere in Paris and not London.

@Nora
Christian din’t left England, as far as I know he was taken away s a child by his father to the U.S and it’s ok, I don’t really mind at all, but it has nothing to do with the country but with the journalist and editorial. I’ve heard and readden also loads of negative and really unkind remarks about him on the U.S papers and tv programs.
Love you Chris!

I agree, it was an awful interview and the writer was insulting and rude.

I agree with all of you ladies. The interviewer almost crucified him. I can’t understand all this hate! I really can’t understand how people blow this out of proportion, and the media especially. They only want attention by ruining others image. And the interviewer is also plain stupid. The DP’s position is just under the director of the movie, over CB’s position. Definitely it is NOT down in the food chain like she says. And the way she talks about what happened with his family… disgusting. All the article (and the British media) is disgusting… I wonder when this stupidity will stop. It is more than tiresome now.

Extremely rude writer, I totally agree. I just hope this kind of stuff doesn’t eventually get to him to the point where he decides to quit acting. That would be a huge loss for us all. I saw the short video on Access Hollywood of CB arriving at LAX from Paris this past weekend w/ Sibi and Emmie (the pictures are already posted here on this site), and you can hear some idiot pap asking CB as he walks past him “Do you need Anger Management classes?” CB is holding his daughter no less, which makes it even worse. God, some people are such losers! I know CB claims he tries to stay oblivious to this stupid stuff, and I hope that is indeed the case. I just also hope he knows that he has many, many supporters out there who understand his desire for privacy and to protect his family.

What is especially sick to me is that basically, the paps taunt certain celebs like CB into being “hostile” or “confrontational” by naturally reacting to the paps horrid behavior and stupid remarks, and then revel in some sort of triumph, announcing in the next day’s headline: “Christian Bale flies in to tantrum!!” or “Christian Bale lashes out at the papparrazi with his notoriously hot temper!” It’s just so lame. Sorry- I’ll get off my soapbox now.

Wait- one other thing- I can tell anyone from personal experience, and anyone else could tell you who’s just stepped off a 10 hour flight from Europe to LAX: you are exhausted, feeling icky and grimy from “canned air”, your butt hurts, and just want to get the heck out of the airport as fast as possible! :)

Veronica I loved your post. :D Exactly what I feel too! I second everything you said.
Gosh, it is so unfair what the paparazzis do to everyone, not just CB. There should be some way of punishing those losers because they are parasites. The dream of those losers is to the celebrities react to them so they can post disgusting “news” and, of course, to sue and blackmail them. One clear example is what happened with Kiefer Sutherland recently. They should punish the paps.
