The THIRD chapter of Christopher Nolan’s Caped Crusader’s saga could very well be FULLY shot in IMAX, not IMAX Digital – but the beautiful, stunning IMAX that we saw pieces of THE DARK KNIGHT in.

Now this is something that I’m sure a lot of you will feel is a no-brainer. Nolan blew us away with the IMAX sequences in that film – but it was a very tough process to work in. Mainly due to the limitations of how many available real IMAX rigs there are. Not only that, but lenses had to be created, adapted and god forbid one broke down. Part of the reason that Nolan went forward with INCEPTION first – besides taking a creative break from the cape and cowl adventures… was possibly to create a few new IMAX cameras made to his specs. Once again – the cost of shooting an entire feature film on IMAX… the stock, the time it takes to reset, to load, to move the cameras… Well… it is daunting, but as Nolan proved with DARK KNIGHT – the difference is stunning.

ver the past two months, we’ve seen a lot of pictures coming out from the set of The Fighter, the true story of boxer-turned-trainer-turned-crackhead Dicky Eklund. Christian Bale plays Eklund, and Mark Wahlberg costars as “Irish” Micky Ward, Eklund’s half-brother. Apparently, Bale and Wahlberg have become quite close on the set – close enough that Mark is really, really worried about Christian Bale’s weight loss.

The photos coming out of the set are not flattering for Bale – he is playing a crackhead, after all. Bale is rather famous for his extreme “method” acting, and his habit of taking on extremes when preparing a character. His habit seems to be to take a role where he has to loose an extreme amount of weight, then he takes on a role where he has to really buff up. Mark Wahlberg is trying to convince Bale that he can’t keep doing this to his body:

“You gotta eat man. You’re messing with your health!” Mark Wahlberg made that desperate plea to co-star Christian Bale when Bale continued to starve himself after dropping more than 40 pounds for their film “The Fighter” sources say.

According to Boston Herald, Christian Bale was spotted looking extremely gaunt, with his wife and daughter taking a morning stroll through the Public Garden .

The Dark Knight director drops out of The Prisoner to focus on the next installment in the Batman Begins reboot franchise.
Did I get your attention? Good. Now, before you get too excited, let me clarify…

While there has been no official studio announcement that director Christopher Nolan will return for a third installment of the new Batman franchise. A recent announcement purports that Nolan is leaving the production of The Prisoner to focus on development of the next Batman film.

Back in June, actor Christian Bale lamented that he is obligated to appear as Bruce Wayne/Batman in a third Batman movie, but that Nolan had no such contract stipulation to direct.

“I truly don’t know that we’re ever going to see another Batman movie. It would be purely that (Nolan) would need to find a story that was good enough and if he couldn’t find that it wouldn’t happen.”

Bale went on to say that he didn’t want to consider playing Batman without Nolan at the helm.

“I don’t even want to think about that. I don’t know if there will be a third.”

Christian Bale’s setting off all kinds of alarms again.

Filming of The Fighter is underway in Massachusetts, and we have a super spy on the set giving us some dee-lish deets. Seems the big three (Bale, Mark Wahlberg and Amy Adams) were all on location at the retro-hip Olympia Restaurant, a frequent hang for past real-life fighters like Mickey Ward.
