You never would have guessed it when he was starring in movies like American Psycho and Velvet Goldmine, but Christian Bale is quickly becoming one of the biggest names in high-profile, big-budget Hollywood movies. So it makes sense that he would be the choice to replace Tom Cruise in The 28th Amendment, a movie that practically screams “summer tentpole.”
Moviehole.net has it on good authority that Warner Bros. is considering Bale as a replacement for Cruise, who left the project for good today when he announced that he would start work on Edwin A. Salt instead (you can read our report on that movie here). Honestly, the 28th Amendment movie sounds more interesting, if perhaps a little National Treasure-esque.
